Welcome to the integration course at Kreisvolkshochschule Harz
Since 2007, the Harz University of Applied Sciences has been an accredited educational institution for integration courses at the Bundesamt für Migration und Flüchtlinge (BAMF).
Our integration courses are held in Halberstadt, Quedlinburg and Wernigerode. Lessons take place from Monday to Friday from 8:00 - 12:15. Part-time courses in the afternoon are also possible if there are sufficient enrolments.
We have extensive experience in conducting and advising integration courses (What is an integration course?). So far, we have organized about 50 integration courses and taught German as a foreign language to several thousand immigrants.

Integration course - good to know
Organisational matters - how do you learn?
An integration course consists of a language course and an orientation course. The language course comprises 600 teaching units and the orientation course 100 teaching units. As a rule, an integration course is attended full-time and lasts approximately six months.
Content - what do you learn?
The language course ends with a final test, the so-called "Deutsch-Test für Zuwanderer" (DTZ). Here, course participants are tested in writing and orally to determine whether they have reached language level B1.
The orientation course, which follows the language course, is about getting an overview of the German legal system, history and culture. The curriculum on which the orientation course is based was developed by the BAMF.
The orientation course ends with the final test "Leben in Deutschland" (LiD). Only those who pass both tests receive an "Zertifikat Integrationskurs".
